outstanding LACER students with a Brunch, Silent Auction, Award Ceremony

Halloween Carnival. This is event is fun for all ages and will
include games, food, prizes, and student performances. Don't be

"After
The Storm" hosted by LACER at the Los Angeles Film Festival
A
celebration of perseverance and rebirth through the arts, this
inspiring documentary follows a group of New Orleans teens as they
stage a revival of the hurricane-themed musical "Once on this
Island".
The Los
Angeles Film Festival highlights film from every corner of the

Leadership Campaign 2009
Culmination
This
afternoon event will take place at UCLA on June 6th with
1,500 LAUSD students who are leaders in arts and civics including LACER
students from Hollywood and Fairfax High Schools.
Throughout this school year, our programs at Fairfax and Hollywood High
have been deeply involved in organizing student campaigns including the
Do The Write Thing national essay contest; Denim Day, in conjunction
with Peace Over Violence; Kick Butts Day; and Matriculation activities.
This event will feature: Poetry/Spoken Word, Cheer/Dance, Music/DJ, and
Visual Art. It promises to be entertaining, fun, and thrilling day.

and LACER present the House of Blue recital. This free
event features performances from LACER music students in the genres of
classical guitar (professional musician; Jerry Morales), rock (Sound
Art), and jazz (Jazz
America).

IHOBF.

"Once On This Island"

One stormy night,
thunder booms, making a small girl cry in fear. To comfort her,
storytellers tell her the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who falls in
love with a grand boy named Daniel. A story of life, pain, love, grief,
and faith.
LACER's Hollywood Stars
Theater Workshop presents the award-winning musical "Once on this
Island". Performances have been scheduled for the LeConte Middle
School student body during the day, as well as performances after school
for the youth of LACER and the community. Don't miss this
wonderful musical, directed by Elizabeth Guilliams.
